About MICHAEL

Michael Suddes is an indie folk singer-songwriter blending heartfelt storytelling with the raw sensibility of his blue-collar background. Raised in Connecticut, Michael picked up a guitar at 13 and from that point on, set out to find his distinct musical voice. His early passion for music eventually led him to study jazz in the Pacific Northwest, but it wasn’t long before he felt the pull of his New England roots—and the life he’d come to build back home.

Aside from being a musician, by day, Michael grew up working in the trades—welding, contracting, house painting—labor that shaped not just his hands, but his songwriting. “Writing a song feels a lot like blue collar work—you make a mess while striving to shape something beautiful that you believe in emotionally and artistically. I get a lot of creative ideas and lyrics while doing brainless physical labor so they also feed each other in a cool way.”

Michael’s songs reflect that spirit: emotionally raw, honest and openhearted, often centered around relationships and their many complexities. There’s a quiet strength to his voice and writing—stories that feel lived-in, delivered with sincerity and confidence. Whether exploring the ache of heartbreak or the evolving churn of personal growth, his music takes listeners on a journey to sit with their own stories. Known for his warm, intuitive live performances, he brings a deep sense of presence and connection to every stage he steps on.
